Joelle T. Shanesy earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Duquesne University School of Law in 2018. Prior to law school, she graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a minor in political science. Ms. Shanesy is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Shanesy concentrates her practice in all areas of family law. She has years of experience representing clients in custody, divorce, protection from abuse, adoption, and support matters. She is also skilled at drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and separation agreements. She also serves clients in resolving issues without litigation through collaborative divorce and mediation.

Ms. Shanesy has been recognized for her efforts and expertise by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, being named as one of the Top 10 under 40 family law attorneys in Pennsylvania. She has also been named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2021 through 2023.

Prior to joining Berman Voss, Ms. Shanesy was a senior associate at a boutique family law firm in Philadelphia, serving clients in all areas of family law.
